  Tammurriata Pimontese (Sangennarobar Traditional Version)

The Pimontese is a dance typical of the mountain range that links the towns of Lettere and Pimonte in the province of Naples, also near Vesuvius. In this dance, the movements are performed by getting very close to the partner, then playfully, almost as if rejecting the invitation, which, as the dance progresses, will be accepted.
The rhythmic characteristic of this dance is the binary/ternary rhythmic axis, which sometimes leads to it being mistaken for a tarantella, when, in fact, it is part of the large family of tammurriatas.
This style of tammurriata, with its unexpansive gestures, is not danced by many, because there are few performers and dancers who perform it.
