The Tammurriata alla Giuglianese is characterized by the use of the “sisco” or “siscariello,” a type of upright flute made from reeds from Lago Patria, onto which the mouthpiece of a recorder is inserted.
The sisco and vocals are by Margareth Ianuario of Damadakà, who has been studying drum songs and dances for years.
The hypnotic sound of the sisco blends in this version with the trap music of “Mattone su Mattone,” a Lucanian producer born and raised in Tricarico, at the music school of Maestro Antonio Infantino.
